Hoover PTA Membership 2019-2020
Annual membership fee is $10 per adult. Benefits of membership include the following:
Champion Your Cause
The PTA is primarily an advocacy group. A fee-paying PTA member can vote at general meetings, rendering power to their voice. Our Hoover PTA General Meetings are held in the MP Room on the first Tuesday of September, October, December, February, April and May, at 8:05am after drop off. While we welcome non-member parents to attend meetings and speak up, you are empowered to champion your cause only when you become a voting member. So any ideas you feel strongly about, for example, better lighting in the classroom, installing a kinder ramp for bikes, or parent-only social gatherings, you can advocate for your cause only if you become a PTA member.
Participating in Hoover PTA meetings and events is a great way to meet other like-minded families and have fun. After all, it takes a village to raise our young. Becoming a PTA member is the most direct way of getting involved and building a community that supports our children.
Children learn best by real-life examples. When you actively contribute to the school community, you are sending a message of care to your children while enhancing the educational experience for all students.
Access to Resources
The PTA maintains up-to-date information on a variety of educational topics including child safety, family health, literacy, bullying prevention, digital citizenship, and navigating special needs. As our local unit grows in number and visibility, we can also apply for grants for family engagement efforts.
Benefits & Discounts
Partnership organizations offer discounts and promotions to PTA members with valid membership cards (good for one year). You will be entitled to discounted rates at Legoland, Hertz, MetLife, Office Depot, Quicken Loans, California Academy of Sciences, Aquarium of the Pacific, etc.
